The story

The DANA storm
A DANA storm devastates the Valencian Community. Dozens of towns are cut off and thousands of vehicles destroyed by the floods. Public transport collapses and getting to work or essential services becomes impossible for many families.
4 Nov 2024
Launch
GuruWalk team decides to act. Juan Castillo, CEO, proposes building a free carpooling platform to help people get around. In less than 24 hours, pair-programming on Vue and deploying to Vercel, Anem! is in production.
Day one
1,500 users in 24 hours
In its first 24 hours the platform records 1,500 users and 1,000 trips published. The team iterates in production while the Valencian community adopts the tool en masse.
Week 1
National coverage
Xataka, National Geographic, El Economista, El Español, Libertad Digital, OK Diario and other outlets cover the initiative. Valencia Basket features it in its «15 games, 15 initiatives» campaign in the ACB league.
Week 2
5,000 people, 3,000 trips
After two weeks the platform passes 5,000 registered users and 3,000 recurring trips. Hour and zone filters, fixed-schedule routes and a map with real itineraries improve the experience day after day.
2025-2026
Mission accomplished
As services are gradually restored, Anem! is no longer an emergency need. The team decides to close the platform and keep this page as a historical record. El poble salva al poble — the people save the people.
